CSBS Business Services, LLC is in search of PRN General Clerks for the Charleston Naval Health Clinic
The Naval Health Clinic Charleston operates from 0745 to 1600 hours Monday through Friday (exclusive of Federal Holidays).
All applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificate.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, medical documentation requirement, and technical and administrative correspondence and other reports necessary for the completion of patient records, a knowledge of filing practices for medical records and a knowledge of scheduling practices,
Ability to use a variety of software applications and be able to type on a computer/word processor at a minimum of 30 words per minute (wpm).
Two letters of recommendation from supervisors written within the preceding three years attesting to individual's skills as a general clerk. Reference letters must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The applicant shall provide General Clerk II services at the health clinic, or one of the branch medical clinics. General Clerk II's shall perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties including database update and reports which document results in support of claims investigations and care provided . The contractor shall:
Screen, record and redirect telephone calls for the health clinic using appropriate telephone etiquette; take accurate messages and relay information in a timely manner; receive, greet and direct patients, provide accurate responses in a friendly, courteous and concerned manner; and accurately report and record information to the professional staff.
The applicant shall: Receive, research and respond to various inquiries from patients and HUMANA concerning a variety of referral and non-referred claims and other related administrative matters and determine general nature of inquiry, provide brief description of problem and respond to most all independently; seeking assistance from the supervisor only when necessary. Update the referral management database to record receipt of referral results from network specialty providers. Scan referral results into patient’s electronic record in AHLTA. Take appropriate measures to ensure confidentiality and privacy during phone and in-person interactions with beneficiaries and others. Provide necessary information and background material (copies of referrals, copies of claims, billing information and information about TRICARE enrollment etc.). Research correspondence from HUMANA regarding civilian provider’s requests for procedure, visits, medical equipment for active duty beneficiaries.
The applicant shall have knowledge of the following systems: 1.) Consolidated Health Care System (CHCS) and the Armed Forces Longitudinal Health Technology Application (AHLTA); and 2.)the Defense Enrollment Eligibility System (DEERS); and be able to 3.) Verify enrollment/eligibility and refer non-enrolled and ineligible patients appropriately. 4.) Frequently monitor electronic mail system (e-mail) to ensure all updates/changes to department procedures.
GENERAL DUTIES:
The applicant shall maintain an adequate supply of standard forms and clerical supplies. Keep area well stocked with needed supplies. Order supplies for the department as needed and in accordance with MTF established procedures.
The applicant shall ensure cleanliness of administrative workspace.
The applicant shall assist in the orientation of new staff members to the department pointing out the location of supplies.
The applicant shall maintain fax machines in operating condition by providing paper and toner as needed.
The applicant shall participate in department performance improvement process.
The applicant shall notify the appropriate person and in accordance with the health clinic’s established procedure when repair or maintenance of Government-furnished facilities or equipment is required.
