Certified Nursing Assistant

Location: DiLorenzo TRICARE Health Clinic, Washington, DC
Pay Rate: Competitive
Hours: Monday-Friday Between the hours of 7am-3:30pm
Partial Tasks:
• Interact and coordinate with hospital staff such as the surgeons, residents, fellows, interns, medical students, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other technicians
• Document care given and the patient’s response to the care provided in the medical record
• Prepare service reports and collect data
• Assist with clinic/unit related administrative tasks
• React with alertness and skill in any emergency situation, i.e., cardiac or respiratory arrest, hemorrhage, shock, severe physical trauma and psychiatric reaction.
• Be able to initiate life saving measures in the absence of a physician
• Take vital signs, recognize when vital signs are outside acceptable parameters and notify nurse, physician assistant, or physician. Notify nurse, physician assistant, or physician of changes in patients’ condition
• Assist with medical examinations and procedures
• Recognize and initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations
• Safely use electronic thermometers, infusion pumps pulse oximeter, nasopharyngeal suction, oxygen equipment, glucometer, EKG machine, spirometer, vision testing equipment, audiometer, and blood pressure machines
• Maintain records on the use, issuance, stock levels, and maintenance of equipment/supplies in accordance with departmental policies
• Assist in the clean up and decontamination of the sterile field to include instrumentation and supplies using standard infection control precautions
• Assist in the decontamination, packaging, and sterilization of instruments
• Report and correct deficiencies to include initiating equipment work orders
Qualifications
• Graduate from a Certified Nursing Assistant program
• Current and valid Nursing Assistants Certification
• BLS certification
• 1 year minimum clinical experience within the past 3 years
• Basic computer skills
